This is a very haunting rendition of Thyagaraja's krithi in raga Saramathi by E. Gaayatri. I hope novices to Carnatic music will find the comments I've included insightful and helpful. I have deliberately focused on those aspects of Carnatic music which appeal to me. The music continues to send shivers down my spine every time I listen to it and I hope you will find your own form of musical ecstasy in its timeless appeal.
