This Bhajan by Tulsidas is in Raga Yamankalyani. The chanting of Shri Rudram with the veena makes for a special listening experience. Belonging to a long lineage of Carnatic musicians, Jayanthi started playing the Saraswati veena at the age of 3. Smt. Her mother Lalgudi Rajalakshmi was her first teacher and she was later trained by Padmavathy Ananthagopalan and Sundaram Balachander. Dr. Jayanthi has performed at several prestigious festivals in India such as the Sawai Gandharv Mahotsav, Gana Saraswati Samaroh, Gwalior Music Festival and also on various international stages.
