Pithukuli Murugadas (25 January 1920 - 17 November 2015) was a religious singer from Tamil Nadu. He was best known for his compositions on the Hindu deity Murugan.

Kartikeya, also known as Murugan, Skanda, Kumaran, Kumara Swami and Subramaniya, is the Hindu god of war. He is the Commander-in-Chief of the army of the devas and the son of Shiva and Parvati.
