The videos I have uploaded here give us a tiny glimpse of the relentless efforts put in by Prince Rama Varma at bringing to light the lesser known compositions of his guru, Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna. After watching so many people imitate him mindlessly or mangle his compositions beyond recognition and simultaneously listening to Varmaji and his students render his compositions perfectly, Dr.Balamuralikrishna made this moving statement certifying Prince Rama Varma as the rightful heir to his musical legacy. Varmaji told me that after a statement like this from such a great composer, he doesn't feel the need for any more awards, titles or other forms of recognition.
